About me
Camila Llerenas is an industrial designer and current student at San José State University, passionate about creating designs that connect deeply with people. Her approach to design is guided by empathy, using thoughtful research and human-centered insight to craft products that improve user experience while evoking emotion.
She has explored a wide range of design disciplines, from ergonomic and medical design to playful furniture and branding-focused projects. As a designer, she enjoys being a versatile creative, combining her skills in sketching, CAD modeling, prototyping, rendering, and graphic design. Her toolkit includes SolidWorks, Fusion 360, KeyShot, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, along with hands-on techniques in photography, painting, sculpting, and sewing.
Her design philosophy centers on understanding people, creating objects that are intuitive, meaningful, and often infused with a sense of nostalgia, adventure, or whimsy.
Growing up as the daughter of immigrants and a first-generation college student, she draws inspiration from her family’s values of generosity, creativity, and contribution to society. With a lifelong love of the arts, from painting murals and designing stage sets to crafting garments from recycled materials, she views industrial design as the perfect intersection of art, empathy, and problem-solving.
